FEARLESS MUSIC | AI CHALLENGE
HONORABLE MENTION : GENERO AI CREATIVE CHALLENGE
Awarded an HONORABLE MENTION in the Genero AI Challenge
This branded content/spec ad for an imaginary musical instrument brand “Fearless Instruments” tells the story of a musician want-to-be that finally does “buy that guitar” later in life in the format of a home movie, shot on one roll of grainy Regular 8mm film. Leveraging the format of a miniature redemption epic seen through the lens of punk rock claymation, it pushes the authenticity envelope in the AI space.
Limited Use of AI :
The narration audio was produced using Eleven Labs “voice to voice” option, driven by a human performance (me) that was then recreated with a stock voice profile.
The raw visuals of the claymation characters were first developed as static poses, using Adobe Firefly, Artlist.io and imagine.art.
These still files were then used as the first and last frames of video prompts on the same three generative AI platforms, using a number of AI solutions, namely Seedance Pro and Kling to create each shot.
The basic logo for Fearless was created using Design.com’s generative AI engine, then brought into Adobe Firefly to create the textures and 3D objects in the final logo. The logo was then animated using the Seedance generative ai engine on imagine.art.
Use of stock footage assets:
The old film overlay (sprockets and mortices) are stock footage assets from Cinecolor.
The film leader elements, flash frames and some dirt/grit are stock footage assets from Cinecolor.
Human involvement :
The main concept, script and scratch narration performance are the result of 100% human analog creative.
The editing, compositing and aged-film effects are 100% human creative, using After Effects. (3rd party plugins were used for compositing and color-correction tools from Red Giant, film grain and halo (on from Filmconvert, true Lens blur by Boris FX.)
Sound design is 100% human creative, with the bulk of sound effects coming from Epidemicsound library, then mixed in ProTools Studio.
The guitar performance is human (me), recorded and mixed in ProTools Studio
Final audio mix in ProTools Studio.
The person yelling “1-2-3-4” at 0:13 is my daughter, Eve.
